Humboldt City Schools CSH experienced a 23% increase in Weekend Backpack teacher referrals for the 2014-15 school year.  Through the efforts of the CSH staff working with community partners such as Ministerial Alliance, Helping Hands, ConAgra, Wal-Mart, Lashlee-Rich, Privitt Wrecker Service, Humboldt Health Department,  and Humboldt Fire Department and local churches all funds and food were donated, stored, packed and distributed.
Humboldt City Schools receives Federal grant for $393,034 to install 4 Telehealth Clinics in schools.  Through this grant the schools now have a direct line with a Pediatrician and an Eye Specialist.  Student registration is still ongoing. Awareness of this service will be displayed at the Board Meeting and the Town Hall meeting for parents in January.  The Humboldt City School System through the efforts of CSH is looking to expand mental health services as the next steps to this project.

Humboldt City Schools received the CCLC grant for $200,000/3 years to implement three new before and after school sites. This is in addition to the current Boys and Girls after school CCLC grant.  Through collaboration with CSH and the CCLC Director, many new physical activity and self-motivation programs have been added this year.  Just to name a few, walk to school day, bike to school day, intermural flag football, karate, boy/girls mentoring program, and go girl go.  Through this grant funding year a total of 150 students are being served through activities and tutoring.  Students have really enjoyed the extra-curricular activities.
